The camera allows operators to ‘see’ into blind spots and pick up objects that they may not be able to view from the cab or in the mirrors. This improves safety, efficiency and reduces the risk of damage by providing an uninterrupted, ‘real time’ view of all around the whole machine – including from above.

In awarding the Silver Medal, the DLG judges said: “Digital processing increases the potential of imaging systems to detect the environment around an agricultural machine. This technology is a major advance over purely visual solutions.”

The system also makes it easier to manoeuvre the combine, which reduces the risk of collisions and accidents. Ultimately this will also improve efficiency with quicker, safer headland turns as well as cutting downtime, lowering avoidable repair and damage costs as well as the associated risks when operating large vehicles.

The 360° camera system will be available through the AGCO Parts Division in 2016. The Dealer-fitted system takes about one day to install and calibrate.

Massey Ferguson supports combines with AGCO Harvest Promise

Massey Ferguson is supporting operators of current production MF combines with AGCO’s innovative Harvest Promise compensation scheme.

“In addition to our high spare-parts fill rate of 99%, AGCO provides a unique uptime guarantee to customers,” says Falk Seidenfaden, AGCO Director Global Harvesting Parts. “We know how vital machine uptime is especially during harvest season, and we continue to improve our industry-leading Harvest Promise with the addition of more models and services.”

In the event of eligible MF combines being immobilised due to non-delivery of critical parts within 24 hours, the scheme compensates the customer should a contractor or replacement machine need to be hired to continue the harvest. Under the scheme, a refund of 35 Euros/ha will be made to the customer up to a maximum total of 3500 Euros.

Offered from 1 June to 15 November, the Harvest Promise scheme is available in Germany, France, UK, Italy and Denmark and covers Massey Ferguson combines in current production – specifically the MF ACTIVA, MF ACTIVA S, MF BETA, MF CENTORA and MF DELTA ranges. To be eligible for the scheme, the machine’s serial number must be registered pre-season with MF’s parent company, AGCO, via a Massey Ferguson Dealer who uses genuine AGCO Parts. Full terms and conditions are available from MF dealers.

The New Massey Ferguson Range Impresses in Strasbourg

More than 80 members of the European farm machinery press attended Massey Ferguson’s pre-Agritechnica press event in Strasbourg last month.

As well as being the official launch of the MF 7600 range, the event showcased the brand new MF 3600 Series compact tractor range and 2012 harvesting line-up, which included the ACTIVA S, FORTIA 9530, 2170 XD big baler and updated DELTA combine.

The two MF 7620 and MF 7624 tractors were fully equipped and ready for work – one with a Kuhn stubble cultivator and the other an 18t haulage trailer.

As well as having the opportunity to drive the new MF 3600 range of tractors fitted with 900 Series loaders, those attending also got the chance to test Massey Ferguson’s new MF 9205 compact two-by-two loader and test it’s handling capability with a number of different materials.

Press were particularly interested in watching the ACTIVA S harvesting maize with an 8-row header, whilst they also had the chance to inspect and weigh bales from the new 2170 HD baler, on the back of the latest generation MF 8690 tractor.

To get a closer look at the MF 7600 why not register to see the dedicated MF 7600 site early as well as a chance to win a trip to Paris as well as a trip to Massey Ferguson’s world class Beauvais factory.
