It is harvest time in Australia!
Following the harvest corridor through Australia, seven MF9500 combine demos have hit the paddocks to show customers and local dealers what the MF9500 is made of.

As part of a worldwide AGCO initiative, AGWN (AGCO Global Women’s Network) was officially launched in Australia last month.
AGWN is a women’s network established for the staff of AGCO, designed to support the women within the organisation, in achieving their professional goals through development and career advancement.
Up to 20 staff members from the Sunshine office were introduced to the initiative by Warwick McCormick (Vice President & Managing Director, ANZ & FE), Luke Harrop (HR Manager, ANZ & Far East) and Linn Warzelhan (Director HR, APAC) in a two hour information seminar, which highlighted the program and provided updates on worldwide AGWN programs. A thorough interactive exercise was also run by Linn, who is also part of the AGWN Steering Committee, in regards to the women working at AGCO, providing staff with the opportunity to suggest activities that may support women in their career growth at the company.
Further to this event, a number of AGCO staff attended the first “Outstanding Women’s Series Breakfast” in March, presented by the Australian Institute of Management. More of these breakfasts will be attended to by AGCO staff throughout 2012, providing insight into some of the most successful career women in the country.
A local committee will now be established to drive the initiatives that were discussed at the launch.
“This is a great opportunity for AGCO staff to give their suggestions on how to improve the professional roles of women within the company,” says Luke. “By having a large number of both women and men attendees at the launch, across all departments of the company, it provided a positive environment for staff to make their suggestions.”
After all the news, coverage and widespread discussion, the time had finally come – the Gleaner Super Series combine hit the field in Australia!
The main feature of the Australian 2011/2012 harvest was the big, black S77 combine; travelling throughout Australia as part of the Gleaner Demo Program.
Starting in Springsure, Queensland, the Gleaner combine worked its way down to the southern state of Victoria.
“It’s fantastic to finally see the Gleaner S77 in action during harvest,” says Marcus Paul, Gleaner Product Manager. “After our Australian launch back in April 2011, dealers and customers alike had the opportunity to see the combine at work first hand,” he added.
This year’s harvest shaped up to be a hot one, with soaring temperatures in central Queensland and New South Wales. However, the heat didn’t affect the new Gleaner combines – grain samples were of the highest quality, with minimal losses – something customers across the country have been more than happy with.

Celebrating its milestone 20th year is esCARpade – the Camp Quality outback motoring initiative that brings together family, friends and car enthusiasts from all over Australia who are committed to making laughter the best medicine for children and their families living with cancer.
After two decades of wacky cars and dusty, muddy roads, Camp Quality organisers decided to retrace the 1992 route starting out on 14 October in Bendigo, Victoria and finishing in Bright, Victoria a week later.
Following from previous years, Valtra is yet again a proud sponsor of the Harvey family, who have been involved with esCARpade for a number of years. They joined the parade by travelling up to 450km per day in their custom designed BMW.
“My family and I were very proud to be a part of esCARpade again,” says Keith Harvey. “It was great to travel to so many different towns and being able to spread the word on the great work Camp Quality do.”
Offering family support, recreation and education programs, Camp Quality in Australia has raised millions of dollars to bring happiness and support to children and their families that have been affected by cancer. In particular, esCARpade in 2010 raised $1.3 million – the highest amount ever raised! Organisers and supporters alike are hoping to do the same this year – all the while, providing a week full of laughter and outdoor activities for a number of children and their families.
