IAS Year in Review and Looking Forward: AGCO and Appareo Systems Joint Venture

Last year, AGCO and Appareo Systems announced their partnership on a joint venture, Intelligent Agricultural Solutions (IAS), to enable breakthrough agricultural innovations for creating a more optimized farm.IAS_Logo_Vert_RGB

As the flagship of AGCO’s Fuse partnering model, the IAS joint venture presents a unique funding mechanism and structure to quickly drive new, creative technologies that will help growers reduce costs and waste while improving yield and efficiency.

2015 saw success in IAS’ existing product line, progress on six development projects and the addition of five new projects entering the concepting phase. The Wireless Blockage and Flow Monitor currently on the market is an acoustic-based monitoring solution that provides quick and accurate notification of blockages anywhere in an air seeder, fertilizer, or box drill. The simplicity and reliability of this product makes it one of the best in the industry.

With so many products in the development stage and several launching in 2016, the market will begin to see the strength of the IAS innovation engine. Several of the new technologies will be featured at a field day in the fall of 2016 where growers will have the opportunity to see the products in action and learn firsthand how these products can increase their farm productivity and improve their bottom line.

Fuse Technologies Launches Global Fuse Contact Center

The Contact Center is a key part of the Fuse Technologies strategy to provide growers with the expertise and answers to run their operation more efficiently.

Recently, AGCO was proud to announce the launch of the new Global Fuse Contact Center, a new customer support resource that will assist customers with setup, calibration, and operational support on AGCO precision agriculture and machine communication technology products. The Contact Center is a key part of the FuseTM Technologies strategy to provide growers with the expertise and answers to run their operation more efficiently.

Officially launched on December 16 in North America, with other regional launches planned for the first quarter of 2014, the Fuse Contact Center will be open seven days a week from 1:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST and supports the following AGCO Fuse Technologies products:

  • AgCommand®, AgCommand API, Fendt® VarioDoc
  • Auto-GuideTM 3000, Fendt VarioGuide
  • AgControlTM
  • FieldStar® II
  • System 110, 150, 350, AES 25

In North America, the Fuse Contact Center can be reached by calling AGCO Answers, (877) 525-4384, and selecting the Fuse Contact Center when prompted. The Contact Center gives customers the opportunity to speak with an AGCO trained support specialist for assistance using these AGCO Fuse Technologies. Email and live chat support are under development, and will be offered at a later date.

Fuse Technologies Year-In-Review: An Exciting Launch In 2013 With More To Come in 2014

July 2013 marked the launch of AGCO’s new global precision agriculture initiative, FuseTM Technologies.  The Fuse strategy and customer benefits were shared with the world at several key events, involving customers and dealers.

AGCO’s Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) leadership unveiled this new strategy at a precision agriculture conference in Lleida, Spain on July 9 and again the following week in Springfield, Illinois at North America’s largest precision agriculture tradeshow, InfoAg.  The launch was well-received globally, garnering broad exposure on the international business wires as well as with regional media.

Following these launches, Fuse Technologies had a significant presence at the 2013 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL, in August. The team hosted two well-attended information sessions during which a panel of AGCO experts and local personalities presented the Fuse strategy and other precision farming topics.

Fuse also had a noteworthy presence at Agritechnica in Hanover, Germany, in November which included the debut of a 3D, interactive smart farm visual that brought the Fuse connected strategy to life for visitors to the AGCO area in Hall 9. Fuse experts were stationed in each brand area to further explain how Fuse helps customers within each brand, and Fuse also had a presence in the Smart Farming exhibit hall.

In the APAC region, AGCO ATS dealers gathered in New Zealand in August for comprehensive training in AGCO’s technology offerings. The Fuse South America launch began with the annual dealer meetings in that region: Massey Ferguson dealers in Argentina in November, and Valtra dealers in Brazil in December. The South America customer launch will soon follow with a Fuse presence at regional trade shows starting in early 2014.

An AgCommand website release with new features and updates went live in November, with updates for the mobile app launched this December. There were several product launches at Agritechnica as well: TaskDoc which is now available on select Massey Ferguson combines, VarioDoc availability for select Fendt combines, and Fendt Section Control for most new Profi Plus tractors.

There have also been numerous activities for AGCO employees and dealers to learn about the new Fuse strategy and get excited about how we are delivering on our vision to provide high-tech solutions for professional farmers feeding the world.

What’s next for Fuse Technologies? ATS recently launched the Fuse Contact Center, a dedicated, global customer support center, first opened in North America with more regions coming on board in early 2014. The Fuse team will continue to provide ongoing support of the strategy from product development to marketing and communications.
