Partnerships through connectivity solutions, and utilizing industry standards, are key enablers for today’s farmers. With Fuse®, AGCO is pioneering an open approach to precision farming built on adherence to industry data standards and a growing list of partnerships. Fuse is AGCO’s precision farming and precision machine management strategy that allows farmers freedom and flexibility in their choices of machinery, farm management and agronomy software, and service providers – while providing unique solutions for managing their valuable data.
A rapidly growing area of machine technology is remote connectivity, with solutions integrated into products that communicate equipment performance information and wirelessly send agronomic (task) information from the field to the office and from the office to the field. In order to preplan, manage and analyze agronomic data, AGCO offers the wireless transfer of task data from the machine terminal to the office computer through a unique data pipe, separate from raw machine data. AGCO recognizes and respects customers’ data privacy rights and acknowledges that all equipment and crop data generated during a grower’s operation belongs to the grower. An AGCO customer can choose between task and fleet management products and data paths to wirelessly transfer operational information:
- AgCommand®, AGCO’s telematic machine and fleet monitoring system, captures and wirelessly transfers equipment status, location and performance data to a unique user interface used by farmers and AGCO dealers to provide machine optimization, performance monitoring and machine uptime. Customers and dealers can access data through the AgCommand website and app on an iOS smart device. Telemetry focuses on keeping equipment in the field and ensuring the machine is optimized for the best performance. Focusing on minimizing downtime, AGCO uses technology to make sure farm equipment is not only continually moving, but also running optimized. Products that are never idle and providing the current status is the target. We develop solutions that help farmers to understand where his/her pieces of equipment are, and let him/her knows what operations it is doing.
- Task data management is possible with a wide selection of AGCO’s partner Farm Management Information Systems including FarmWorks, Claas Agrocom Net, Helm, BASF and Land-Data Eurosoft AgrarOffice. Since 2010 the VarioDoc/TaskDoc offering from AGCO has been based on the ISO 11783-10 standard. AGCO’s task management solutions include wireless transfer of crop data in the form of work orders and work records. This can be done through an exchange server directly from a machine terminal through cellular connection or Bluetooth. AGCO is not locked into a single service provider or FMIS. We are the connectivity partner between the farmers and service providers, so our customers are free to choose which trusted advisors he/she wants to work with. It is important we offer capabilities that link service providers with our customers, more specifically to business data and field operations. It is important to respect customers’ choices, and let them to choose their service providers.
We in AGCO recognize that task and fleet management data are important information that should be handled differently. We want to make sure the farmers are connected to each step of the crop cycle, and also connected to AGCO dealers and service providers. The data collected in one operation can be used to create information that will be used in the next operation, from planning and planting, to growing, harvesting and storage. Fuse Technologies address each step of the growing cycle, focusing on adding new technologies on all AGCO equipment.

Fuse® Technologies continues to further educate and inform by participating in key regional events the first quarter of 2015. Customers had the opportunity to learn more about current technology products, hear from leaders in the industry, and visit with Fuse Technologies experts about what to expect in the coming months from AGCO technology products and services.
National Farm Machinery Show (February 11-14, 2015)
The National Farm Machinery show offered an array of cutting-edge agricultural products, equipment and services for the visitors to the Kentucky based show. Fuse Technologies was there offering our customers an opportunity to view the connected farm through our augmented reality experience. This walked visitors through the crop cycle beginning with planning to planting to harvesting and grain storage all through the lens of products offered within the Fuse Technologies portfolio.
Held at the same time in Tulare, CA, World Ag Expo offered a view into the largest annual agricultural exposition. More than 1,400 exhibitors displayed the latest in farm equipment and technology. AGCO had a welcoming presence inviting visitors to our farm. Visitors learned about AGCO’s equipment and Fuse Technologies while visiting each turn of the crop cycle, and learned from industry experts on how to increase their profit potential over lunch.
SIMA (February 22-26, 2015)
This year’s SIMA event, held in Paris, hosted 1,740 exhibitors from 42 countries, and welcomed 238,848 professional visitors from 145 countries. New areas of interest included soil tillage, irrigation, beet harvesting, trailers and handling, and cereal harvesting. AGCO had much to celebrate with the successful mission of the recently returned team from the Antarctica2 expedition, an ambitious 5,000km round trip to the South Pole on a MF 5610. This is the first standard farm tractor to reach the Geographic South Pole overland. The tractor was fitted with AgCommand®, AGCO’s telematics solution, from the Fuse Technologies product portfolio. A special version was used on the Antarctica2 expedition to track the tractor and monitor its performance. The Antarctica2 MF 5610 expedition tractor was a highlight of Massey Ferguson’s stand at SIMA.
Fuse Technologies was present at South America’s Expodireto. Held the second week of March, this was the 16th edition of the agricultural and technology farm show. Massey Ferguson and Valtra offered separate stands for visitors to interact with technology solutions, learn more about Fuse through the technology team and our interactive display, and spend time with their local dealer.
Precision Farming Expo (March 17-18, 2015)
Fuse Technologies, for the first time, participated in the Precision Farm Expo 2015. The second annual event returned to Oregon with a mission of “bringing clarity to farmers” through displays and presentations of currently available and near future agri-tech innovations. This expo was designed for those interested in learning how new and increasingly affordable technology solutions are becoming available to farmers of all sizes. Fuse presented their interactive Fused farm walking farmers through our current suite of technology solutions by crop cycle.

How do you get a tractor into the middle of Australia’s third largest city? Drive it down a river of course!
The long awaited Challenger E series made a dramatic entrance to the Australian and New Zealand region, surprising a gathering of Challenger Dealers on the banks of the Brisbane River.
Built upon three decades of Challenger’s tracked tractor leadership, the industry leading E Series demanded an unveiling that would leave a lasting impression with the dealership team and kick off the launch of this exciting new range with a bang.
Local challenger dealers were invited to a social evening at a restaurant overlooking the Brisbane River in Brisbane’s business district. As guest presenters introduced the new ground breaking E Series with informative presentations and videos, Challenger dealers would have been excused for assuming the evening was following a familiar schedule.
Drifting down the river under the cover of darkness, on a barge set up as a stage, the Challenger E series was poised to disrupt that familiarity.
Arriving at its destination with precision timing, the floating E series nudged closer towards the dealer group now congregating on the restaurant’s balcony and was revealed in a coordinated show of lights, smoke and the beat of ACDC’s thunderstruck.
And thunderstruck the crowd was. The unique unveiling was captured by a contingent of photographers as well as the dealership group and onlookers, with hands quickly diving into pockets in search of iphones to capture the sight.
Speaking after the event, key organiser of the E series launch and Challenger Product Manager Jeremy Duniam said that the evening went as planned.
“There were a couple of dealers that had a suspicion of what was going to happen, but most were stunned when the tractor was lit up and floating only metres from the river bank.”
“It was an exciting way to introduce the exciting new Challenger E Series,” Jeremy said.

Released in 2010, AGCO’s AgCommand® solution has been a leading edge farm equipment data recording tool that helps users optimize fleet performance, monitor operating costs and generate reports. Since AgCommand’s release and adoption into the telematics market we have learned a lot from AgCommand’s utilization in the ag industry from our users and dealers. AgCommand is an ever evolving product, and expanding on what we’ve heard from our user base, this past November we released more updates to the website and mobile app.
The current challenge to gathering so much data from an advanced piece of AGCO equipment is how we interpret this data and make it more user friendly. Our solution to this in our November update was to renovate and simplify the user interface in the AgCommand website and mobile app to help each look and feel more appealing to our AgCommand users. We also implemented an automatic Weekly Status Report that will deliver to users a quick snapshot of vehicle productivity, performance, and maintenance. We have also restructured a few of our reports to help users understand data coming from the machine more clearly. By leveraging AGCO’s strength and experience in telematics, we can help our customers optimize their entire fleet and operation, even if they can’t be on site with every machine 24/7.
Be on the lookout for more exciting AgCommand updates in 2015, which will feature enhanced dealer capabilities to better serve our customers’ needs for uptime and efficiency.
