In 2012 we announced the launch of Massey Ferguson Planet: a new program of promotional actions in Brazil to showcase what Massey Ferguson has to offer to the customer.
Besides promoting the products, our intention is to highlight the wide range of solutions available to customers and new prospects with several facilities to purchase products through AGCO Finance, Consortium and AGCO Rental. Another highlight is to show our customers the after-sales support, the range of Genuine Parts MF and Lubricants Shell available through AGCO Parts and Services Premium MF marked out to our dealers by AGCO Service.
With a goal to reach 10 states across the country this year, Massey Ferguson Planet includes dealer training, technical demonstrations and test drives. The exhibit station is able to accommodate 100 guests simultaneously.
An exclusive exhibit truck was designed for the event to take the Massey Ferguson brand to all corners of Brazil.
To celebrate the start of this project, developed by the sales, product marketing and communications departments, where employees were able to experience the exhibit truck in action and see how it will positively impact our customers a kick-off event was promoted at the Canoas factory on March 12th.
Expodireto Cotrijal reaches its 13th edition reinforcing its image as one of the main agricultural fairs in Brazil. Receiving over 160000 visitors at the 2011 edition and with a turnover of over 1 billion reais, the fair became a good businesses display for Massey Ferguson. Taking place in the city of Não-me-Toque – RS, the Precision Farming national capital, the fair is the main city event of the year and drives the whole region!
The brand, in 2012, is reinforcing its increasingly complete products portfolio concept, presenting to the region the new line of tractors 320 and 370 CV MF 8600, a success in the European and American market. The machine already draws the attention from the passersby in front of Massey Ferguson´s stand and also the local press’s.
The Massey Ferguson Caricatures Contest is stirring the stand at the fair. Many clients are participating at the contest, which consists in having a caricature created and promoted at the MF social media. The most liked ones will get awards. The brand’s social networks pages are increasingly growing.

Valtra has prepared for the Expodireto Cotrijal 13th edition, in Não-me-Toque, between March 5th and 9th, a series of novelties to attract the region’s farmers. With an enlarged and modern stand, the brand shows to the fair audience the complete portfolio of solutions.
The action Valtra & You at the social media is present at this important fair. The visitors can take pictures at the cameras, holding posters like “Mom, I’m at Valtra”. Since its first edition in September 2011, the numbers generated by the marketing effort have been very positive. Today Valtra has already over 2300 fans on its Facebook page.
During the fairs 5 days, all the passersby at Valtra´s stand will be able to know the highlights that the brand will bring to this edition. The new S Series will be present with the S293 model, with CVT gearbox (AGCO Variable Transmission) and 320 CV power.

Massey Ferguson assembled some of the finest journalists in Brazil for a night of awards last month. In its 10th edition, the Massey Ferguson Journalists Award has recognized some of the best work on agricultural journalism in television, newspapers, magazines and internet. This year, Massey Ferguson included a category for students.
The awards night united all the nineteen finalists on the last 27th of October in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul state. Since 2001, Massey Ferguson received more than 1500 subscriptions to the prize. There were around 500 journalists in the combined years trying to win the trophy.
Also during the night event, Senior Vice President and General Manager for AGCO South America, Andre Carioba delivered AGCO’s Agricultural Journalism Highlight Award. This trophy is annually given to a tv show, newspaper, journalist or entity and is pointed solely by the jury members. In 2011, the journalists forming the jury decided to conceive the award do Bandeirantes communications group for its continuous work covering the agribusiness in Brazil. Congratulations!
October is a very special month for Massey Ferguson. In 2011, the brand will complete 50 years of existence in Brazil and will celebrate with a series of events around the country. Check this post to see everything that was done to spruce up this commemorative month.
Massey Ferguson 50th anniversary party
Reflecting continuous investments in technology, the Massey Ferguson Canoas (RS) factory is today one of the most modern in the country. For this reason, it was chosen to receive the party’s guests to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary.
With around 700 people present, the October 6th evening was highlighted by the opportunity to relive all of Massey Ferguson’s history, as well as the historical facts and world personalities, encompassing the past, the present and the future.
Five decades of history were represented by a sensory tunnel that led the visitors down memory lane, emphasized by celebrity personalities such as: Elvis Presley, Roberto Carlos, characters from the films Hair and Saturday Night Fever, among others.
Mr. Martin Richenhagen, President, Chairman and CEO of AGCO, joined by Mr. André Carioba, AGCO’s Senior Vice President of South America, were present at the celebration and were able to enjoy the company of Pelé, the Soccer King, and country music Daniel’s show, both Massey Ferguson clients.

The commemorative book is full of the brand’s and its clients’ history and travels back in time, showing the significant happenings for Massey Ferguson through the decades.
Massey Ferguson’s Your History Promotion
Massey Ferguson’s Your History Promotion was a success. Carried out between February and September this year, the contest that gathered clients´s relationships stories with the brand, reached the expressive number of 693 participants in over 370 cities in Brazil.
During this period, videos were both sent to the contest site (www.massey.com.br/50anos) and captured in a booth at the main agricultural fairs in the country.
The contest winner, Lourdes T. A. Osaida, achieved a great number of votes and will travel to France with a traveling companion, where, besides the typical sight-seeings, they will visit Massey Ferguson’s factory in the country. The Contest had over 150 thousand votes.
Looking to the future. This is just the beginning.
Forward-looking, the agricultural machinery brand, recognized by its red color, expects to extend its leadership in the tractors market and rise up ranks for the best-selling harvesters in the country. The focus on solutions of the farmer’s needs size and the proximity with the rural producer will not change.
