Massey Ferguson 7499 with Autoguidance to the Rescue!

The following post was submitted by Campbell Scott, AGCO Product Marketing based in Beauvais, France:

A Massey Ferguson 7499 fully equipped with Topcon autoguidance is ensuring that potatoes are being planted to the highest standards of accuracy and precision, ready for discerning Norwegian customers buying top quality chips and fries next season!

The MF 7499 is equipped with a Topcon System 150 running at 5cm accuracy using a base station and RTK technology. This ensures the spacing between the rows is 100 percent accurate and no amount of fuel, time or effort is wasted during the critical time window for planting.

The Massey Ferguson 7499, Finalist in last year’s Tractor of the Year Competition, is exactly what is needed for this kind of work, with its Dyna-VT transmission ensuring the optimum forward speed, ASP 7.4 litre engine delivering performance with fuel economy and the comfortable cab with controls and information at the driver’s fingertips.

Commenting on the high quality of the work achieved, Jorgen Skjelin, MF’s Product Manager in Norway said ” It runs really well, perfectly. All who have seen it are impressed by the precision down to 5cm”

Its nice to see top quality technology in the Massey line up,if they had a full line up of equipment that included articulating four wheel drive tractors and high clearance sprayers in the North American market they would return to their glory years.
